Product Detail
Talc is an aqueous magnesium silicate, its theoretical formula is 3MgO4SiO2H2O. In its ideal composition, it contains 63.5% SiO2, 31.7% MgO and 4.8% H2O. It is available in white, greenish transparent colors, slippery, massive-looking and soft. According to the Mohs Decalogue, its hardness ranges from 1-1.5. Its density is between 2.6-2.8Dec/cm3. The crystal form is monoclinic. Talc has poor thermal and electrical conductivity, but is fire resistant. When heated at high temperatures, it hardens, solidifies. It does not deteriorate with acids. The commercial ones of talc are usually quite different from the theoretical purity. Pure talc is like talc, and the products found in talc paragenesis can be minerals in different proportions, such as dolomite, calcite, Quartz, diopside, Serpentine, magnetite, pyrite, tremolite-actinolite and Mica.”
